Module 5: Youth Crisis Intervention and De-escalation
Training Description
This training will look at how to respond and help when youth are in high levels of emotional distress. We will focus on frameworks such as the calm (regulate), connect and collaborate model and use the crisis cycle to guide interventions.
Learning Objectives
Participants will understand how previously reviewed concepts integrate into intervention and de-escalation strategies.
Participants will increase skills: calming, active listening, responding not reacting.
Participants will learn strategies to use the crisis cycle as an MCR tool.
Participants will appreciate the loss of control many youth feel during crisis.
Mode of Delivery
This module will be trained synchronously on Zoom.
