Module 13: Safety - Yours and Theirs

Training Description

The purpose of this training is to discuss how to safely proceed with crisis response to optimize the best outcomes for both the person in crisis and you as a responder. To do this, you need to understand iatrogenic risks and be able to facilitate productive conversations with clients and your team to implement safety and support plans. Furthermore, the training provides tips for self-assessment, scene safety assessment, and crisis lethality assessment.

Learning Objectives

Participants will:

  • Learn about Iatrogenic Risk in Safety Planning.
  • Apply Real Harm Reduction principles.
  • Conduct scene safety and crisis lethality assessments.
  • Learn about the role of Preferences and Experiences.
  • Create and evaluate Support Safety and Support Plans.
