Research shows that the more a client talks about change, the more likely they are to actually make the change. Too often we focus on problem-solving before the client is engaged in the change process. This webinar will share strategies for evoking change talk and responding and reinforcing change talk.

This training series will be implemented by Dr. Angela Wood, who has trained providers and line staff in motivational interviewing since 2005. In 2016 she became a member of the prestigious Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers. As a clinical social worker, Angela has worked in substance abuse, mental health, criminal and juvenile justice as well as private practice settings.

Recommended Audience: Louisiana behavioral health practitioners interested in learning motivational interviewing techniques.

Estimated Time: 2.0 hours

CEHs: This course has been reviewed and pre-approved for 2.0 Continuing Education Hours (CEHs). Upon successful course completion, your certificate containing your CEHs will be available for download.
